Reviews for Rachael’s books
Three Pebbles24 February 2025Verified Gripping. This is an excellent psychological drama. It’s about Lucy who is in a mental institution to assess if she is mentally fit to stand trial for murder. The book revolves around her sessions with her psychiatrist as he tries to get to the truth of what Lucy did or didn’t do. The books ends on a cliff-hangar so you’ll need to read the next one to find out what happens. Marie4 October 2021Verified Great book. Really interesting take on mental health in the CJS. I liked the mental health angle. I didn’t like that it was set in America as i like to learn more about our system here in the UK and i understand Authors do a lot of research before they write a book of this nature. Great read Andi5 July 2021Verified Gripping story From start to finish the book had me gripped. The plot covered every emotion as Lucy's life is uncovered. Her and the psychiatrist build their relationship to get her to open up to her past. The final twist left me wanting more I look forward to reading the rest of the trilogy Natalie Ede5 July 2021Verified So unexpected Oh my god!! This story took me into places I had no idea it would take me. Usually twists and turns in books start to get predictable but I honestly never saw any of this coming, right up until the last cliffhanger where my jaw literally dropped to the floor! I’m so excited to find out what happens next. Congratulations on this fantastic book I am so so proud of you!!! Kindle Customer29 June 2021Verified Brilliant debut novel Following the build up to the release of this debut novel from R E Harper I hoped I wouldn't be disappointed. I definitely wasn't. If I hadn't been visiting my daughter I know I would have read this in one sitting as the author sucks you in to this page turner. Harper's style is easy to read and I loved the way that during the sessions with her psychiatrist we were told the story of Lucy whilst watching the relationship between the two characters develop.Do circumstances determine our behaviour or do we still have a choice? The twist at the end of this book left me wanting to read the next in this trilogy immediately and I hope I don't have to wait too long.
